Our mission is to establish a world class training academy dedicated to provide outcomes based learnership programmes, short courses and customised Fibre Optic training solutions, ensuring a curriculum that addresses the current skills shortage of the ICT sector in South Africa.

FIBRE INSTITUTE (PTY) Ltd IS A FULLY ACCREDITED MICT SETA INSTITUTE. The academy is a unique B-BBEE driven Independent Learning Academy providing high, key performance Indicators outcomes based courses, Fibre Optic certification programmes addressing fibre optic skills needed to build a competent, well trained workforce in South Africa.

To receive a CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE at Fibre Institute (PTY) Ltd the applicable candidate need to comply to the following measured results:

 

- Practical assessments - Competent or Not Yet Competent

- Theoretical assessment - 70% pass rate

- Successful submission of a portfolio of  evidence to be moderated and assessed according to the Skill Act regulations:

  • POE submissions must be done within six weeks of training

  • First submission is inclusive in training fee as well as a second remedial submission

  • Any subsequence submissions or submissions after the time period will carry an additional cost

 

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING to confirm skills level claimed:

 

Candidates who wishes to obtain a certificate of competence without attending a course, can enrol for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment. Fibre Institute (Pty) Ltd will set-up a proctor and time for your exam to:

 

- Verify and assess experience (in the field)

- Verify and assess skills (practical ability)

- Verify and assess knowledge (understanding)

- Book an exam time slot
